The Bible School

We usually take class photos at the beginning of the school, but this year we had some complications. Here is the team we have and a small profile of each.

Carmen Camacho/Burrows (Student)

Carmen has been a staff member at YWAM Morelia for four years and has been in missions for a total of 10 years.

Abigail Moreno (Student)

Abi has been a staff member of YWAM Morelia for five years now. She and her husband Saul are working in a nearby city to plant a church. She travels back and forth to attend classes.

The Teacher

The Last book of the bible to be taught is Revelation. I started by teaching Genesis and Job, and after many teachers in-between, I will finish by teaching Revelation. Please pray for me as it is always a challenge.

Outreach

Our Outreach is finally set. The plan is for us to work here in Mexico for three weeks, and to travel to Colombia for five weeks. Here are the details:

• 1 week here in Morelia. We will be planning and preparing teaching materials, and giving a small seminar in a local Rehabilitation Center so the students can practice.

• 2 weeks in Tapalpa Jalisco MX. We will be working with a local church and giving a two week seminar. We will also be working with the pastor and participating in house visits and whatever other ministry opportunities are available.

• 5 weeks in Leticia, Colombia. This is a city on the Amazon River in the middle of the jungle. Leticia boarders Brazil and Peru. We will be teaching two seminars with two churches within the city, and we will be teaching a one week seminar in a community in the Amazon.

This trip will be the most ambitious of my time in missions. It will be my first missions trip outside of Mexico, and it will be more expensive than trips of the past. In total, Carmen and I need to raise $6,000 for these two months of ministry.

Alexis Lopez (Student)

Alexis did a discipleship school here in Morelia last year (2024). He is the first christian in his family and wants to learn more about the bible and serve in missions for a time.

Jose Luis Garcia (Student)

Jose took part in the same discipleship school as Alexis. He has been a christian for two years and wants to be a pastor of a church.

Luciene Martins (Staff)

Lu has been staff here in Morelia for 6 years. She is a great administrator and teacher, and will be helping to lead the Outreach.

Jacob Bechard-Toth (Staff)

Jacob has been serving as staff in Morelia for 7 years. He’s a teacher and has lead many schools.

Saul and Abi are married and will be going on the outreach together. Saul did this school two years ago but didn’t go on the outreach phase. So he will complete the requirements with his wife.

This will be the third missions trip for Carmen and I. I’m so happy to see her grow in her knowledge of the bible. She is learning to have confidence as she presents the truth of the word.

As a school, we are one month away from outreach. The last few weeks have really flown by as we have finished the old testament and most of the New Testament. We are now changing our focus.  The students have learned different ways of studying the scriptures so that they can understand for themselves, now we will be shifting our focus so that they can learn how to study for the sake of sharing and teaching.
